Severe Storms Deep South Texas and Southern New Mexico Today...


Severe thunderstorms are forecast within the yellow shaded areas on the above image for today. The primary threat will be damaging wind gusts and large hail in these areas, with the hail possibly exceeding 2 inches in diameter from just South of the Big Bend into Deep South Texas:


The primary timing for the severe weather threat will be during the heating of the afternoon and evening, with activity likely to diminish after dark.

Strong to locally severe storms are possible across portions of the Southeast and into the Tennessee Valley, with hail near severe limits possible in the brown shaded areas on the above image.

Very heavy rain is also possible across much of southern Texas today, with widespread rainfall amounts of 1-2 inches and locally heavier amounts possible:
