Severe Weather Update TX/LA...

Strong to severe thunderstorms are moving into the Houston Metro area at this time. Radar shows a line of strong to severe storms extending from near Shreveport to Houston.  The line itself is moving East at 20-25 mph, while individual storms within the line are moving North/Northeast at 40-45 mph.

The radar image below shows that portion of the line moving into Houston, which is near the center of the image:


Hail up to golfball size and damaging straight-line wind gusts are the primary threats with this activity, however isolated tornadoes also cannot be ruled out along the leading edge of the storms.

This threat will continue Eastward into Louisiana this afternoon, where a Tornado Watch continues until 3pm CST:
