Severe Storms Possible Deep South Later Today and Tonight...

Severe thunderstorms are possible within and near the yellow shaded area on the above image. The risk of severe weather will begin late this afternoon or evening on an isolated to scattered basis, and will peak overnight tonight.

Large hail and damaging wind gusts will be the primary severe weather threats, however isolated tornadoes also cannot be ruled out.  The greatest chance of isolated tornado development will reside within the brown shaded area on the image below:

A surface frontal boundary is becoming stationary across the region this morning, and will remain in place through tonight.  Isolated to scattered thunderstorms are forecast to develop along and near the boundary by late afternoon or early evening, and will increase in coverage overnight as an upper level weather disturbance moves across the region from the West.

Folks living across the above region should review severe weather safety tips and listen for later statements and possible warnings.
