Severe Thunderstorm Watch - Including Dallas - Until 11pm CST...

The above Severe Thunderstorm Watch was just recently issued for parts of northcentral and northeast Texas into extreme southeast Oklahoma and southwest Arkansas, valid until 11pm CST.  This watch includes Dallas, Texarkana and Waco.

Thunderstorms have been developing across northcentral and northeast Texas for a couple of hours now, but have yet to become very organized:

This may change as several weak disturbances in the middle and upper-atmosphere move over the region during the evening hours.  One such disturbance appears to be moving into the region at this time, as shown by the latest water vapor satellite image below (circled in yellow):

Large hail and damaging wind gusts will be the primary threat with activity across the watch area this evening... although an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out.
