Severe T-Storm Watch Extended Eastward in Texas...

A new Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued across much of east-central and southeast Texas, including the Houston area. It is valid until 4pm CST.

As the thunderstorm complex moves from southcentral into southeast Texas it should intensify late this morning into this afternoon, as the low level atmosphere becomes more unstable with daytime heating.

Additional thunderstorm development is also likely to take place ahead of the main complex, such as the activity that is currently developing between College Station and Lufkin.

Large hail and damaging straight-line wind gusts are the primary severe weather threats across the watch area this afternoon.
