Severe Weather Update - NE Oklahoma / SE Kansas

As mentioned in my earlier post, a thunderstorm complex continues to slide Southeast through eastern Kansas at midday.  The leading edge of the main complex is currently located over southeast Kansas, approaching the Oklahoma border as shown in the radar image above.

A weak surface boundary extends to the South of this activity, with additional thunderstorms developing along that  boundary to the immediate Northwest of Tulsa at this time (also as shown in the radar image above).

Additional thunderstorm development is likely to take place in assocation with this system and related surface boundaries this afternoon.  Large hail & damaging winds will be the primary severe weather threats.  I would expect a Severe Thunderstorm Watch to be issued for the region soon.
